Hello Stefan

The purpose with the display, is to present events in an elegant design. It is meant to be used for small cinemas, theatres, museums and clubs that has public events. It can also be used as a news-display. It is meant only to be set up for categories that are considered as public. Private events should not be shown in the display.
In the extrafields can be specified images and after the image, an URL can be specified. Then the display can be used for a short description of an event and the URL can lead to a longer description for the event.

If you want a user-dependent kind of display, you could maybe use the "Upcoming event".

As Dan mentions - if Roel think it is a good idea, then maybe there could be a kind of check on logged-in user. I think this should be a setting in the display then.

Kind regards
Schwartz

Hi Stefan,

For my Calendar there is no Public view. If a user logs in they still don't see my private event.

If they don't know that the event exists, how would a person know the url?

If the feature doesn't exist it might be something that Roel can add to the User Group or a "Which User's Can View Event" selection in the next release.

Regards,
Dan

Thanks Dan,

Yes - in the settings of the display you can adjust which events to see (users/cats/groups) but as far as I can see: Everyone who knows the url of the display will see these events.
I would like to use displays for special views for different users. So I think I have to pass some arguments... I will try to achieve this via php/javascript...

Thanks!

Stefan, You can allow private events. You can also create different groups. I know the different groups  can edit but I'm not sure if they can see private events. If I make a private event then I think only the people in my group or I can see it.

Regards,
Dan

Is there a possibility to show a display only if a special user is logged in?
If not - all persons are able to see the events if they have the url of the display... isnt that a little bit risky?

Appreciate any explanations!
