Send me your email address and I will send you a PHP session test script. Thereafter we will take it from there.

Roel,
Re failure to install LuxCal--"Sessions not working".
I wrote a little script that initialized a session and stored data.
Now the session directory has data:

vagrant@homestead:/var/lib/php/sessions$ ls
sess_0vntmdjsjnubmpaa06vdu7cdni  sess_gs1l1v9du495nblivb6t6kf76i
sess_bmb531566fhlqu8bv3m8kuoqq1  sess_hhjckpukifckfr9l756jl92p9l
sess_f035dttvf3dh5svkpp0opmagah  sess_q2m64hq2cfm0d8lfhku457rr3t
sess_fitnsdgokeo0v0rk7vjtcmcfid

Looks like Sessions is working--- but LuxCal installer thinks it not  ???

Thanks again, D

Roel,  your LuxCal looks like a wonderful addition for my website.

But, I have the same problem (PHP sessions not working).  Can you see the problem?
I am using a Homestead installation on a Ubuntu virtual box with vagrant (PHP Version 7.2.5-1+ubuntu18.04.1+deb.sury.org+1)

From phpinfo():
session.save_path    /var/lib/php/sessions    /var/lib/php/sessions

and from SSH in the virtual machine:
vagrant@homestead:/var/lib/php$ ls -l
total 8
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Jun  3  2018 modules
drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 4096 Jul 24 19:33 sessions

and the sessions directory is empty

I will send my email via the contacts page

Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

Phpdummy,

I don't know if you are the same as cpcnw (first post), but send me your email address (via the Contact Us page) and I will send you a small script to test your PHP sessions.

We're taking our current LuxCal 4.3 installation from one Windows server to another due to age of the server, and other factors.

I've created a 4.7.5 installation on a Windows 2012R2 so I can go through the installation process on test server before I bring it to prod.

I'm not sure what information you need, but here's what I know to offer:
-Windows 2012R2 with the latest windows updates
-PHP 7.0.30
-I'd like to use SQLExpress
-When running the install475.php script, I get "php sessions not working check php installation on your server"

How do I check that?  Is there a log?  When I go to the luxcal475L-calendar\logs file, the luxcal.log and sql.log files are empty

Hi  there,
Send me your email address (via the Contact Us page) and I will send you a very small PHP session test script. If this script shows your PHP sessions are not working, then we will takeit from there.

Fresh Install

PHP  7.1.21
From local php.in / phpinfo.php  - session.save_path =    /var/sites/domain.org/sessions

/sessions exists and sessions files appear in folder

Error persists

Tia!
