I'm still very much exploring how to work with LuxCal and how to get the best out of it.

You could say our trouble is that 50% of our membership are elderly and have no interest the the Internet, and many of those that are online are self taught in middle age with many misunderstandings. Probably less than half who have phones have smart phones, and many with feature phones only turn them on when they want to make a call. Things like RSS and QR codes are probably beyond more than one or two of our regulars.

I've yet to fully explore the Displays feature of LuxCal, but I am hopeful that it will provide a good solution for displaying the calendar on smart phones.

Oops! I should learn to test properly, like you AND I should learn to click links like everyone else!

Almost invariably, my habit is to is to wheel-click any link, to open it in a new tab. So when I saw the status line said indicated that it would open the link as a new non-embedded copy of the diary AND I then wheel-click the "Elaine Smith" link, sure enough I found exactly what I expected.

But now I see that if I do a conventional left-click the link behaves exactly as you describe and then will be how most operate.

I just tested your calendar.
On the 2. October you have an event where there is a link Elaine Smith.

When I click this link I see an informational  message that says :

Send mail to : elainesmith364@btinternet.com

And when I say "yes" to this, it opens my Outlook and starts a mail

In the TO field : elainesmith364@btinternet.com

And in the subject field : 02/10/2018 - 1st Stalham Rainbows

I would say, that this should be the way it should function.

When I do it for the event on 13. October and click on Diane Godron then the
TO field contains :      mailto:concert@stalhambaptist.org.uk
And the subject : 13/10/2018 - Gospel Night

So - maybe you should just remove the mailto:

I'm running  LuxCal calendar: 4.7.2M (mycal)
and, after almost a year, am getting round to populating my calendar with data but I am having problems with email addresses entered in event description fields. Here's a typical entry in the field:

A concert of spirituals and gospel songs interspersed with Bible readings and Testimonies.
contact: mailto:concert@stalhambaptist.org.uk [Diana Gordon]

I previously left out the "mailto:" then added it to see if that was my mistake!

In both cases, once posted the link appears as "Diana Gordon" but the link points at:
http://www.stalhambaptist.org.uk/diary/index.php#

Incidentally, the calendar is embedded at:
http://www.stalhambaptist.org.uk/diary.php

What could be the solution?
