OK I thought I had missed a settting and yes, that should definitely be an available option.

I would like to see the most recent reply at the top of the list but I can't seem to find the setting that will let me do this.  Am I just missing it?

I just saw that the test email was delivered to my junk folder about 15 minutes after it was sent.  I guess the SMTP is working, you can close this post.

In trying to get the test email to work on my calendar, I changed the method of sending to SMTP.  I have set all of the parameters and the test email supposedly is being sent except that it is never received.  I noticed that the message when sending the test email says "test email sent to me[at]yahoo.com" instead of me@yahoo.com

I don't know f that is the reason the test mail is not sent and if it is, how do I fix it?

I've been looking through the forum to see if anything is posted saying that luxca web calendar is responsive but have not been able to find anything.  Is it responsive if so, by default or do I have to set it to be responsive.  I've been using it on an old version of php but will be updating the new version luxcal which requires php version 7.4.x at least.  Thanks.

I believe this was the topic:

LuxCal Web Calendar → Known Issues and Fixes → LuxCal 5.2.0 SQL error when opening User Profile

Here's the url on that page:

h t t p s : / / www . luxsoft . eu / lcforum / viewtopic . php ? id=401

Since this forum can't have urls listed, I broke the url up.

Thank you

The last problem is a known problem and the solution can be found in this forum under Known Issues and Fixes.

Where exactly in Known Issues and Fixs can that be found. I'm either blind or stupid but I can't seem to find the solution.

Great example, looks very nice !!!

The addition I am still looking for in the sidepanel,
is to also show how young/old someone has become.

Perhaps an extra birthdate-line in the event-window could do the trick here.
Afterwards, the related field can be grabbed from the database to "calculate" and display how young/old someone will be.

Regards, Lucas

Thank you. Your modification sounds great...looking forward to looking at it.

With the help of Schwartz, I was able to integrate a birthday list in my calendar. In order to do that, if completed the following steps:

1. Changed the settings in the Views section to show a sidepanel with Info area checked
2. Logged onto the server and under the configs folder, copied one of the displays from the ”configs” subfolder “samples”  to the “configs” folder.
3. Made necessary changes to the display form to indicate my preferences. Read the displays.html in the configs folder for details
4. In the sidepanel folder on the server, copy one of the text files in the samples folder and place it in the sidepanel folder
5. The code you will need there is <iframe height="600" width="275" class="display" src="display3.php?cnf=display3a"></iframe>  The display3.php     file is the display I want to display and the ?cnf=display3a is the file I copied from the configs sample folder to the configs folder.

The calendar can be viewed here.

Hopefully the directions were clear enough.

Thanks for getting back to me Schwartz. Unfortunately my coding skills are not what you think they are as I have tried doing this prior to this post. Unless there is a file already available that will provide this information.

I personally would love to have the script.

Thank you...I had seen the information contained in the installation.html page before but forgot where I had seen it.

I know that there are 3 different displays that will show upcoming events, but I would like to use the upcoming events list that you can click on.  What is the link that will provide that display?

I am wondering if it would be possible to have either an email or SMS notification x minutes or x hours the day the event takes place.  In looking at the SMS option in the settings, I don't see where this would be available and as far as I know, the email notification is sent using the cron option.

I am wondering if it is possible to receive an email or SMS notification x minutes or x hours on the day the event or to do item occurs.  I have looked through the documentation and if it is possible, I missed it. Perhaps it is not possible?  I know you can receive notification at the time an event is posted or x number of days before the event.

Thanks for your quick response Roel, as always.  There were very few events as I was testing the calendar and the events took place a few months ago which is why no events showed on the calendar.  Yes, the .sql was from version 4.7.2 and it looks like it is working now as I just entered a new event.  Don't know what happened or why it is now working, but happy that is the case.

BTW, what part of my post was being blocked by your spam control as I don't want that to happen again.

I had a LuxCal calendar already online and rather than updating it, I decided to completely delete all the files and database tables and start from scratch.  I did make a backup of the database before deleting it though.  I then uploaded all of the files and installed version 4.7.5M but I quickly realized that none of the tables in the database were added on my web host.  I then imported the backup sql file I had saved and all seemed to look normal.  Then whenever I tried to do anything with the calendar, I started getting a PHP Session Expired error message. Did I miss a step in the installation process?  No changes were made on the web host and the calendar is running on php version 6.3.0.  Any assistance would be much appreciated.

As an update, I have not heard back from cronjob.org so have no way of knowing if the IP address listed is the one that should be used.  Still have not received any notifications.

Thanks to both of you for your response. I have tried using the local as well as the remote option in settings and have sent the cron job by hand with the following results per the log file:

When using the local option the result is:  2018.11.04 09:06:56 CRONJOB Script: lcalcron:118 - Cron job started - Cron host: local
2018.11.04 09:06:56 CRONJOB Script: lcalcron:123 - Aborted.

When using the remote option the result is:  2018.11.04 09:17:39 CRONJOB Script: lcalcron:118 - Cron job started - Cron host: remote - Remote IP address: 99.45.56.80
2018.11.04 06:17:39 CRONJOB Script: lcalcron:216 - OK.

However, no email is received. Don't know if the responses from the log file provide any help to you.

I am using cronjob.org as the external site to send the cron job and have been since May of this year with no problems. I have sent them an email regarding their IP address and am waiting for a response.  I will report back as I get a response from cronjob.org

All of a sudden I have noticed that the email notifications are not coming through again for my calendar and to my knowledge nothing has changed.  I am still using cronjob.org as the site to send the crons and am curious if anyone would know the reason.  I have checked cronjob.org and it states that the cron jobs have been issued and have been consistently.  I am have uploaded an image of the Notifications section of the calendar for your perusal.  I have changed the email address for security purposes, but everything else is the same as it has been.  thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, it is set up as a recurring event and it makes sense that it would not delete.  I will delete them individually.  Thanks for the response.

I'm pretty sure I have set the settings to delete previous events after one day, there is a cron job running but my events are not being deleted. Am I missing something? All of the events that have not been deleted are Birthday related...does that something to do with this?  Here is a link to the calendar:

Thanks for your help.
