Topic: Test Email Error

In trying to get the test email to work on my calendar, I changed the method of sending to SMTP.  I have set all of the parameters and the test email supposedly is being sent except that it is never received.  I noticed that the message when sending the test email says "test email sent to me[at]yahoo.com" instead of me@yahoo.com

I don't know f that is the reason the test mail is not sent and if it is, how do I fix it?

Re: Test Email Error

Hi Fred,
No the [at] in your email address is not the reason.
You wrote you changed to SMTP; did the emails work before you changed to SMTP?
Could you send me your current SMTP settings (e.g. a screenshot of the Reminders section of the Settings page).

If you have access to cPanel on your server, you could have a look in the Email section => track Delivery and see what happened to the test mail.

Re: Test Email Error

Beware that many ISP's now only allow sending emails, where the sender-address of the mail have to belong to the same domain as the domain where the calendar is located.

Example:

domain is mydomain.com

Then the sender address have to be something like  postmaster[at]mydomain.com

If this is already the case then just forget about this post.

Re: Test Email Error

I just saw that the test email was delivered to my junk folder about 15 minutes after it was sent.  I guess the SMTP is working, you can close this post.
