Topic: Clean Up Function in V5.2.2

I have just upgraded our Club's system to V522.  I like the new features such as the transfer of event ownership and the clean up functions.

However, for the later (clean up), can we not have the pre-loaded dates (month old) for the 'Past events' and the 'Inactive users' when opening the clean up functions panel. I've warned our users to be careful in this panel as they may inadvertently click buttons with pre-loaded dates.

I don't know about others, but we often consult past events that are over a month old, particularly where we get high repeat customer numbers. But this would only be back to no more than two years, so we will cleanup for older events anyway.     

Not a big one and don't really need a setting for this.  A suggested code change would probably suffice.

Hi Pat,
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. What do you exactly mean by "can we not have the pre-loaded dates (month old) for the 'Past events' and the 'Inactive users' when opening the clean up functions panel". Do you mean just a textual change?

When I bring up the Clean Up Functions page, the date fields for the clean up of 'Past events' and 'Inactive users are pre-loaded with a date that's a month earlier.  And yes I realise the dates must be a minimum of a month earlier.

The date fields for the others, that is, 'Attachments folder', 'Reciplists folder' and 'Thumbnails folder' are initially blank.

Yes I know that in all cases we can select dates in any of these fields from the date picker.  My preference however would be to have no pre-loaded dates when first bringing this page up, that is have all date fields initially blank until you consciously select dates as required. .

I am always cautious with pre-loaded fields in regard to accidental activation of clean up as there is no undo capability.

An alternative would be to have a confirmation pop-up before final clean up.

But don't get me wrong, this is a great new feature.

I see what you mean Pat.
There is a "kind of" confirmation pop-up: before deleting events, it will show the list of events matching your date selection.
I can give you a patch to have the date fields for Past Events and Inactive Users blank. Should the software test on minimum a month earlier remain?
